This oriental-inspired set of colourful tea coffee sugar canisters with pastel patterns is made from porcelain. Size wise they are 11.5cm in diameter and 20cm tall so will hold an adequate amount for kitchen worktop containers.

The colours they are made in are a pale shade of blue, darker blue and an orange. The design is geometric and is based on the ancient Buddhist concept of wabi-sabi.

What this means is that they are hand-painted designs in which there may be irregularities that are embraced as part of real life. In other words, they are not all exactly the same as each other and sometimes you’ll see in the patterns an irregularity which gives them character.

These irregularities are what I think makes them unique and appealing. This style is also available in a range of other kitchen items such as on mugs and small bowls.
