Although the lids are spherical and therefore these jars cannot be described as airtight, they can still be used to store items that don't need such a tight seal. For example, use them to store your tea bags, sugar and coffee beans next to the kettle for convenience. They will add a decorative touch to that area and probably will get comments from visitors.
As you are only storing small quantities for immediate short term use, it will not be a problem that they are not exactly air tight. Keep topping them up from other larger airtight storage jars kept in a pantry or unit.
